About Peter Klein

Australia’s foremost racing crime writer. Peter writes crime novels set in the often shady world of thoroughbred racing. He draws on the colourful characters, situations and day-to-day racing life observed while he was sweeping stables, strapping horses and riding trackwork.

Now  the racing manager for AAP, Peter started out telling great racing yarns around the dinner table. This lead to a publisher asking him to write his autobiography A STRAPPER’S TALE  which became a best-seller and became a popular read by strappers, trainers, stewards, farriers, bookies, handicapers and horsemen and women across Australia and New Zealand.

In 2007 Peter created his popular amateur detective John Punter who appreared in PUNTER’S LUCK publsihed in 2007. The sequel PUNTER’S TURF was published in 2009 and also released as a talking book - reports are that there’s many a float driver driving between states listening on the drive! His latest novel 'SILK CHASER' was published in June 2010 and he is currently hard at work finishing writing his fourth novel with his fifth in the planning stages.

Peter has appeared at the 2009 Melbourne Writers Festival, the 2010 Torquay Froth and Bubble Literary Festival at at many events such as at The Athenaeum Library.
